Olivia Aguiar

Who am I?

I am an Integrative Biology MSc student studying under the advisement of Dr. Barney Luttbeg at Oklahoma State University. I received my BSc with Honors in Biology from UMass Dartmouth. My research interests include behavioral ecology and the impact of predation risk on prey. Currently, I am studying what factors influence behavioral responses to predation risk and comparing those responses to other types of risk.

Recent Events

April 2023- I received the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

January 2023- The manuscript for my undergraduate thesis was published in the Journal of Animal Ecology. Manuscript Link 

October 2022- I presented my undergraduate thesis at the 2022 Predator-Prey Interaction Gordon Research Conference in Lucca, Italy. Conference Link 

August 2022- I started my MSc at Oklahoma State University with the Luttbeg Lab. Lab Link 

April 2022- I received Third Place and People's Choice at UMass Dartmouth's Three Minute Thesis Competition.

April 2022- I received honorable mention for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship

March 2022- I presented my undergraduate thesis at the 2022 Benthic Ecology Meeting in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
